[updated 5/6/20]~Be part of funding a self-determined space nurturing POC growth and resilience~
Contributions are needed to support participants in a POC healing retreat in In April, 2021 (originally scheduled for 2020.) Zhalisa Clarke and Alexander Aris will be facilitating “A Retreat for People of Color: Growth, Empowerment, Resilience” at Breitenbush Hotsprings, a cultural sanctuary to build resilience and foster peace and healing. This retreat will offer People of Color the opportunity to basically take a break from whiteness: from the constant need to be on guard against the challenges of white supremacy culture. For those of us who benefit from whiteness, let’s use our resources to support this important retreat space.
Our goal is to raise $1,000 so that everyone who is interested can participate in this retreat without registration, lodging, missed work, or childcare being a barrier. We work toward collective liberation by contributing to a healing and transformative experience for our community members of color. Please make a meaningful donation today of $25, $50, $100, or more.

I’m planning to offer a “stay-treat” in the Portland metro area the weekend of April 16 – 18, 2021 for people who contribute to this fundraising effort in any amount. We’ll have time for art, journaling, meditation, yoga, mindful cooking and eating, hiking, and more. More details to come, but save the date and let me know if you’re interested! A portion of proceeds from my personal retreat design services between now and then will also go into this fundraising pool.

Checks can be made out to Vibrant Mission with Breitenbush POC retreat support in the memo line, and mailed to 4630 NE 68th Ave., Portland, OR 97218. Tip: use bill pay through your bank to save on checks and stamps!
